Re: How to find battery model number.

That could be a challenge. There are a lot of different batteries out there, and some of them look very similar to others. Is there anything on the other side?

Re: Icom ic-f3162/f4162 programming issue

I hear you, but we are unable to comply for a couple of reasons. First, we don't carry this model in the US, so we don't support it. Second, although what you are asking is possible, it is a risky...

Re: Motorola MJ270R PTT Issue - Please help

I am not aware of a specific hardware issue with the MJ270R radios, but if there is one, it may not be repairable at this point, since these radios were discontinued several years ago and Motorola no...

One possibility is to use a scanner or frequency finder to detect and identify the frequencies transmitted by the radios.

Re: Icom ic-f3162/f4162 programming issue

As far as I know the Wouxun mobiles are not upgradeable by the end user. I have a KG-UV920P-A and I don't think there was ever a firmware update for it, athough I never tried to update it anyway. I...

Re: VHF Antenna on a UHF Radio

Handheld radio antennas are not expensive, but the radios can be pricey, so simply replacing the mismatched antennas makes a lot of sense.

Re: Novice in need of knowledge

If Amazon lists the GXT1000VP4 as an FRS radio, it is mislabeled. As mentioned previously, as of the Part 95 reform in 2017, the GXT1000 is now a GMRS radio.

Legacy GMRS radios can still operate...
