Unhappy Help Servicing a Standard Horizon Marine Radio?

Hello All,

I am trying to swap microphones between a couple of Standard Horizon radios. One is an 'Intrepid LE' and the other one is an 'Eclipse'. Both have the same housing configuration with the Intrepid just being larger.

I've removed the four screws at the rear of the units and it looks like the front panel and radio chassis should slip out of the housing. However, I cannot get the housing to budge away from the from panel.

Does anyone know the secret to removing the radio chassis from the housing? I am beginning to think the whole interior is potted in epoxy!

Default Re: Help Servicing a Stand Horizon Marine Radio?

After some help from a chap in Great Britain, the four rear screws are all that are required to remove. It just took more force and one is open, but it taking more and more force to open the other one!
